School has finished - 13 years of learning. Now your life lies before you. Why not begin this new chapter in your life with a mission trip with school friends?

When looking for clarity about your future life path there is nothing better than to expand your knowledge of the world and get closer to God’s heart for people in countries where Jesus is not known. A mission trip can be a catalyst for this. It’s an opportunity to breathe the air in another land, walk in the byways of other cultures, and sit with those less fortunate. Often when we do this we gain a greater understanding of ourselves. It adds wisdom when choosing pathways for a future career.

Five years ago I took my son to Spain for a mission trip on bikes. He was 14. We followed a pilgrims’ route, talking to Spanish people and those from many other nations. We ate Spanish food, learned a few Spanish words and shared our faith as we mixed in with the passing parade of pilgrims. Chris, now 20, reflected, “You know, maybe I’ll be a missionary to Spain.”

You will never forget these two weeks, and you will never be the same again.

WEC can organise a mission trip for your school leavers. We will provide orientation, someone to lead the group, a program, and debriefing after the trip. If you are a student, suggest a ‘schoolies mission trip’ to a teacher. If you are a teacher, talk to your principal. And as Paul said to Timothy:

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
